POSITION OVERVIEW
The Etch Equipment Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of semiconductor manufacturing tools within a dynamic production environment. This position focuses on optimizing tool performance and maintaining high standards of operational excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee maintenance operations and resource allocation to maximize manufacturing efficiency for designated equipment.
- Implement effective project management strategies for the installation and qualification of new tools.
- Create and document comprehensive maintenance protocols for assigned machinery.
- Lead initiatives for rapid recovery of tools experiencing downtime or atypical issues.
- Promote continuous enhancement of tool performance metrics, safety standards, quality assurance, and cost management.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators such as tool availability, particle counts, and maintenance effectiveness.
- May provide supervision and guidance to technicians in the area as necessary.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve collective production objectives.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
A minimum of five years of engineering experience in the semiconductor manufacturing sector.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Familiarity with the following semiconductor manufacturing equipment is highly advantageous:
- AMAT P5000 and Centura 5200 Etchers
- LAM Rainbow, 4400, 4500, 9600, or Alliance Etchers
- Semitool Magnum
- Gasonics Ashers
- Ulvac Ashers
- TEL Unity Etchers
Experience with various metrology tools, particularly KLA-Tencor, is beneficial.
Hands-on experience with standard 200mm equipment is preferred.
Knowledge of SPC, FMEA, and established engineering methodologies is essential.
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills are required.
Ability to prepare and deliver technical reports effectively.
Strong technical acumen is necessary.
