Scale Service Technician

At American Equipment, we are seeking a highly skilled Scale Service Technician to join our team. As a Scale Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and reliable operation of various types of scales used in industrial and commercial settings.
Key Responsibilities:- Install and set up various types of scales, including industrial, laboratory, and commercial scales, according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Perform calibration procedures to ensure that scales provide accurate measurements. Adjust calibration settings as needed to meet precision requirements.
- Conduct routine maintenance on scales to prevent malfunctions and extend their lifespan. Diagnose and repair scale issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Inspect scales for wear, damage, and functionality. Identify and address issues related to load cells, display units, and other components.
- Maintain detailed records of service and calibration activities, including calibration certificates, service reports, and parts used.
- Interact with clients in a professional and courteous manner. Discuss service requirements, provide estimates, and address any concerns or questions related to scale operation.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a secure working environment. Prioritize safety when working with heavy equipment and electrical components.
- Ensure that serviced scales meet all quality and regulatory standards. Verify that scales are suitable for their intended applications.
- Keep track of spare parts, tools, and equipment required for scale service and maintenance. Replenish supplies as necessary.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in scale technology and industry best practices. Participate in training programs to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Proven experience in scale installation, calibration, and repair.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to scales (e.g., ISO 9001, NIST Handbook 44).
- Proficiency in using calibration and measurement equipment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects (50 pounds) and work in various environmental conditions.
- Valid Class B (or A) Commercial Drivers License is required.
- AC/DC, MIG Welding a Plus.

Lift up to 50 lbs daily and frequently handle 25 lbs. Frequent exposure to heat, cold, heights, and noise- working primarily either indoors or outdoors. Perform daily physical tasks like reaching, crouching, walking, climbing, and balancing. Occasionally engage in physical requirements such as pulling, pushing, crawling, and kneeling.
