Network Engineer Senior Principal

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr Principal Network Engineer to join our team at Apex Systems. As a key member of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing cutting-edge network solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement network architectures and configurations
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to integrate new technologies
  • Implement engineering changes to the system as required
  • Review and analyze technical requirements for end-to-end system architectures
  • Responsible for completing network configurations and coordinating with peers, SMEs, and government engineers

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, engineering, or related discipline with 8 years of experience; OR 6 years of relevant experience with a Master (MS) degree; OR 3 years of experience with STEM PhD degree
  • Experience with network design, architecture, specifications, and equipment selection
  • Understanding of IP4 and IPv6 network design, including IP sub-netting and protocols
  • Understanding of network device configuration and troubleshooting
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • DoD 8570 Security certification such as Sec+, CASP, CISSP, or equivalent
  • Professional certification specific to the networking industry like a CCNA/CCNP/CCIE or equivalent
  • Familiarity with network management applications like Splunk, Firepower Management Center (FMC), and/or Cisco ISE
