Job Summary

ASN Constructors is seeking a skilled Structural Welder to join our team in the construction of a historic project that will protect the citizens of the Fargo-Moorhead area from flood waters. As a Structural Welder, you will be responsible for designing, laying out, and fabricating metal frameworks for heavy/structural construction, with a primary focus on welding pile on bridge construction sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures on the job site and report any violations immediately.
  • Follow direction from Foremen and Equipment Operators regarding daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite.
  • Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal, machining weld shrinkage, and welding techniques.
  • Lay out, position, align, and fit components together, using bolting, clamping, and tack-welding to secure parts in position for welding.
  • Set up equipment and weld parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment.
  • Assemble parts by bolting and riveting, and repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
  • Report incidents immediately in accordance with incident reporting procedures established by the company.
  • Perform other laboring and various unskilled and semi-skilled tasks essential to the project.
Requirements
  • Good work ethic and dependability.
  • Effective communication skills and attention to detail.
  • All-around knowledge of materials, terms, and practices in the construction field.
Qualifications
  • Three or more years' related construction/pile welding experience required.
  • AWS D 1.5 certification.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.
Work Environment

This position involves both outdoor and indoor work environments, with minimal to moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises.
