Baggage Operations Associate

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the proper tagging and organization of luggage and freight within designated storage areas;
  • Collaborate with Customer Service Representatives (CSR) to ensure accurate loading of luggage and cargo onto assigned aircraft, utilizing the provided flight manifest while adapting to ongoing changes;
  • Facilitate the safe transit of passengers to and from aircraft;
  • Operate ground support machinery (such as golf carts and forklifts) safely;
  • Assist in the towing of aircraft as needed;
  • Engage in flight monitoring tasks, which may include phone support, radio communication, and parking coordination;
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of Operations facilities, parking areas, and company vehicles, adhering to a regular maintenance schedule;
  • Prepare the Operations environment each morning, including tasks such as brewing coffee, arranging newspapers, ensuring cleanliness, and emptying trash receptacles throughout the day;
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory;
  • Possess a valid driver's license and be capable of operating company vehicles as necessary;
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively under varying workloads and weather conditions;
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities;
  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times;
  • Possess outstanding communication skills;
  • Exhibit a positive demeanor;
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds;
  • Capable of operating a forklift;
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime as directed by management.
