The Clinical Nutrition Specialist plays a vital role within the interdisciplinary team, utilizing nutrition education to enhance the quality of life for our patients.

Registered Dietitians are tasked with assessing, monitoring, and educating patients and their families about the significance of diet and nutrition in managing chronic kidney disease.


Work Schedule:
Full-time, Monday through Friday, with weekends off.

Compensation:
Salary range is between $66,500 and $88,900, based on renal experience; prior experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

What You Can Anticipate:
- Assist patients in making dietary and nutritional choices that enhance their quality of life.
- Conduct thorough nutrition assessments for all new and at-risk patients.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and patients to create and implement personalized care plans based on nutritional assessments; review monthly and document progress towards established goals.
- Identify specific interventions necessary to meet nutritional needs, grounded in evidence-based guidelines, best practices, and current research.
- Educate patients and their families/caregivers about renal diets and fluid management.
- Monitor monthly lab results and weight changes, providing recommendations to meet established goals.
- Employ a patient-centered care approach, respecting and responding to individual and cultural preferences while fostering engagement.
- Participate in the Quality Assessment Performance Improvement process, documenting and attending meetings as per clinic policy.
- Compile and develop nutrition materials to promote adherence to renal diet guidelines.
- Communicate nutrition concerns with the care team, including attending physicians.
- Share advancements in kidney disease and nutrition with the care team as necessary.

Qualifications:

Successful Candidates Will Possess:
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Proven clinical proficiency.
- A desire to collaborate with care teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills.

Education and Training:
- Must be a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
- A minimum of one year of professional experience in clinical nutrition as a registered dietitian (post-registration exam) is required.
- Previous renal care experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Job shadowing opportunities are available.
