Position Summary & ResponsibilitiesPosition Summary:

This position conducts risk/needs assessments for men at RDU, utilizing the LS/CMI or other assessments as assigned.

Job Responsibilities:

Conducts risk/needs assessments with male offenders entering the KDOC as directed, including:

  • Conducting an interview
  • Doing collateral checks and research
  • Entering detailed notes to reflect the basis for the rating
  • Other information gathering and reporting as required

Participates in ongoing capacity building with team members/colleagues, including observation, feedback, and booster sessions, to support self and fellow assessors in delivering robust fidelity-based assessments.

Tracks data as directed.

Other duties as assigned.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:

Six months of experience in planning, implementing and monitoring activities relevant to the agency's programs. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with major coursework in criminal justice, the social sciences, or the behavioral sciences, and six (6) months of experience working with offenders in corrections, parole, or law enforcement Or 60 semester hours of college credit, and one (1) year of experience working with programs serving offenders or other high risk/need population.

2 years experience working with adult or juvenile felons.

2 years experience in case management work including conducting risk/needs assessments.

2 years experience in preparing reports, including collecting and translating data.

Demonstrated organizational skills

Demonstrated teamwork skills

Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements: Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Must pass a criminal history records check.
