POSITION SUMMARY:
The Irrigation Technician I will be responsible for the operation and upkeep of various Irrigation Systems, which encompass drip, macro, and micro sprinkler systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:
Engages with diverse irrigation methods including drip and sprinkler systems.
Entry-Level Irrigator:
- Inspect for leaks and conduct maintenance and repairs on sprinklers prior to frost.
- Oversee the maintenance of irrigation systems (filters, sprinkler heads, drip systems, etc.).
- Assist in diagnosing and repairing irrigation system issues.
- Support fertilizer injection and application processes.
- Must be proficient in operating an ATV.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations established by the company.
- Directly execute repairs on all irrigation systems.
- Ensure proper operation of all pumps, filters, and injectors.
- Responsible for the upkeep of all irrigation equipment.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment around pumps, reservoirs, filters, and wells.
- Ability to read and write for accurate record-keeping and basic calculations.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Operate pumps and perform comprehensive maintenance tasks.
- Diagnose issues and identify necessary parts for repairs.
- Interpret maps and determine materials required for new system installations.
- Conduct pressure bomb readings.
- Engage in data collection, cluster counting, petiole sampling, and sugar sampling.
- General operation of trenchers and basic tractor functions.
The compensation for this position ranges from $18.50 to $20.00 per hour, with final pay determined by the candidate's experience, skills, and location.
