Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist I to join our team at Quest Diagnostics. As a Phlebotomist I, you will be responsible for collecting specimens from patients in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, and physician offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collecting blood and other specimens from patients using a variety of techniques, including venipuncture and capillary puncture.
  • Administering oral solutions to patients as needed.
  • Verifying patient information and test orders using lab technology systems and approved tools.
  • Entering data accurately and efficiently using a computer.
  • Obtaining identification and collecting payments from patients when required.
  • Processing specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport.
  • Performing non-patient facing duties, including inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and utilizing email as appropriate.
  • Reading, understanding, and complying with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Assisting with compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.
  • Maintaining phlebotomy logs in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical training, such as medical assistant or paramedic training, preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
  • One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
