About the Role

In the U.S. Navy, law enforcement and security are crucial components of our operations. Our military police are trained to handle any situation, providing security on ships, at bases, and installations worldwide. You'll have the opportunity to train as a K9 dog handler and protect and escort shipboard weapons in the armory.

Responsibilities
  • As a Master-at-Arms, you'll provide security and physical protection for service members.
  • You'll assist in crowd control and riot prevention.
  • You'll operate military prisons (brigs) aboard ships and onshore.
  • You'll handle and care for dogs that detect narcotics and explosives.
  • You'll provide protective service to high-ranking dignitaries and government officials.

Part-Time Opportunities

You'll have the opportunity to serve part-time as a Navy Reserve Sailor, with duties carried out during scheduled drilling and training periods. During monthly drilling, Masters-at-Arms in the Navy Reserve typically work at a location close to their homes.
