Electrical Technician Job Description

At REV Group, we're passionate about building innovative and reliable vehicles that our customers can depend on. As an Electrical Technician, you'll play a crucial role in designing, developing, and testing electrical equipment, components, or systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with designing, developing, executing, and evaluating fitness-for-use testing, product specifications, and process validation plans for complex electrical products and/or components.
  • Use CAD or CAE software to develop structural designs, model new designs, and produce detailed engineering drawings.
  • Verify designs through calculations and analytical techniques.
  • Understand manufacturing processes with an emphasis on motorized RV products.
  • Fulfill customer requirements, considering design rules and interface points.
  • Define test requirements and interpret test results to validate designs.
  • Identify problems, root causes, and define resolutions, including documentation.
  • Understand and apply lean principles to manufacturing and business processes.
  • Execute engineering changes through established processes and documentation.
  • Commit to excellence and high standards.
  • Provide support for the service department as needed.
  • Work with suppliers to obtain testing and certification documents.
Requirements:
  • Skills in computer simulation, cost estimation, design optimization, design review, engineering analysis, and design.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing industry and vocational standards.
  • CAD and CAE software experience.
  • Problem-solving techniques, such as 5 why and root cause analysis.
  • Statistical techniques and data analysis.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong work ethic, motivation, organization, and self-discipline.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work with changing priorities.
  • Self-motivation and ability to stay on task.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute concurrent assignments.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Creative and innovative team player.
  • Ability to use sound judgment and make timely decisions.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
  • Solid PC skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layout.
  • Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent education/experience required.
  • Typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.
