Position Overview
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, a valid RN license, and a minimum of 12 months of experience in an acute care environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Managing and delivering patient care in the designated area.
- Assessing patient needs for nursing care and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
- Working alongside physicians, other healthcare services, patients, and their families to devise care plans and evaluate outcomes.
- Enhancing practices by incorporating findings from research studies.
- Participating in data collection for ongoing studies.
- Exhibiting clinical proficiency and empathy in patient care, utilizing technology, administering medications, executing procedures, and managing emergencies.
- Documenting care in accordance with established standards.
- Accessing, inputting, and retrieving information from computer systems.
- Ensuring continuity of care through effective discharge planning, patient education, and service coordination.
- Acting as an advocate for patients and their families to uphold patient rights.
- Training and mentoring team members to optimize patient care and resource utilization.
Education and Certification Requirements
Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
Preferred Experience
At least one year of experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
Licensure/Certification
A current Texas Professional Nursing license (RN) is mandatory. Additionally, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification are required for specific departments.
