The Grants Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring exceptional service delivery. This position is dedicated to enhancing the patient experience while managing essential clinical or administrative tasks in a dynamic and efficient environment.

A typical day for the Grants Specialist may involve:

  • Overseeing the organizational grant calendar, including proposal submissions, reporting deadlines, and funding opportunities, while maintaining accurate grant records.
  • Collaborating on grant proposals and reports, conducting research to support the development of grant applications.
  • Drafting Letters of Intent (LOIs), grant reports, and comprehensive grant proposals.
  • Coordinating the initiation of new grants internally, ensuring all relevant team members are informed about reporting deadlines, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Facilitating the proposal process through day-to-day coordination and collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assisting in monitoring timely grant expenditures in conjunction with the Finance Department.
  • Working closely with external and internal partners on proposal development.
  • Collaborating with executive leadership on grant submissions.
  • Ensuring all application materials are submitted accurately for each grant application.
  • Monitoring grant opportunity announcements from relevant sources and providing regular updates on new and revised funding opportunities.
  • Occasionally undertaking special projects and performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, preferably in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in research, grant development, proposal writing, and grant administration, ideally within a government or non-profit context.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and follow-through abilities.
  • Familiarity with research tools and platforms, including Raisers Edge and SharePoint.
  • Capability to meet deadlines and perform under pressure while exercising independent judgment to produce high-quality grant submissions.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Highly persuasive writing skills with the ability to construct compelling cases for funding.
  • Proficiency in researching, analyzing, and synthesizing information to evaluate grant opportunities and requirements.
  • Ability to comprehend complex concepts and swiftly identify relevant funding opportunities.
  • Competence in interpreting grant requirements, business publications, professional journals, financial data, technical instructions, and governmental regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
