Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely supplier material delivery aligned with customer specifications.
- Oversee the planning, scheduling, and administration of purchase orders to guarantee on-time material delivery.
- Address demand-supply discrepancies through effective escalation within supplier and internal teams.
- Conduct RFQ processes and assess supplier quotations.
- Monitor multiple procurement activities by supplier and enhance supplier performance.
- Source and develop new products to meet cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
- Foster and manage relationships with both new and existing suppliers to drive performance improvements.
- Track key metrics such as supplier on-time delivery, purchase order acknowledgment, and forecast alignment.
- Commit to continuous improvement in Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Lead Time.
- Act as a liaison between vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve fabrication, cost, and scheduling challenges.
- Provide proactive updates to management and engineering teams regarding critical supply issues.
- Initiate negotiations for long-term agreements with strategic suppliers.
- Manage purchased inventory, including monitoring stock levels and reorder points.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, business, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement.
- Physical ability to lift moderate to heavy objects, up to 35 lbs.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with engineering drawings and customer approval processes.
- Strong technical knowledge in procurement and sourcing of parts and specialized processing.
- Experience in an Aerospace manufacturing environment, including machining, sheet metal, castings, and mechanical assemblies.
- Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
- Proficient in engaging with internal and external customers at all levels.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on relationship building.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel (Office), including pivot tables and basic formulas.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively in a demanding environment.
- Experience with database systems (ERP/MRP/MPS).
- Well-organized with strong follow-through capabilities.
- Knowledge of lean purchasing principles and 5S methodologies.
