Job Title: Class A CDL Driver

Job Summary:

H&E Equipment Services is seeking a skilled Class A CDL Driver to join our team. As a Class A CDL Driver, you will be responsible for loading, securing, delivering, and unloading heavy equipment to customer job sites in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan delivery routes based on load weight, height, width, and roadway construction to ensure safe transportation.
  • Ensure accurate bill of lading (BOL) or shipping documentation is in order for each delivery load.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck, trailer, and securements are safe to travel.
  • Verify weight distribution and obtain necessary permits for oversized loads.
  • Report any equipment or vehicle repairs required for safe operation to branch management.
  • Utilize Electronic Logging Device (ELD) system for proper tracking.
  • Ensure all necessary paperwork is on hand for each vehicle driven daily.
  • Provide basic customer training on equipment usage as needed.
  • Ensure trucks and trailers are properly labeled, flagged, and placarded for each load.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be 21 years of age to drive a combination tractor-trailer flatbed heavy haul for H&E Equipment Services.
  • One (1) year combination tractor-trailer flatbed experience required.
  • Understand and apply Hours of Service for Property Hauling drivers defined by FMCSA.
  • Able to use an Electronic Logging Device (ELD) as required by FMCSA.
  • Valid Class A CDL from residence state required.
  • Valid DOT medical certificate required.
  • Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and Commercial Driver's License Information System (CDLIS) must show a valid CDL, current medical certification, and self-certification status.
  • No traffic convictions defined by FMCSA that would disqualify a CDL.
  • Daily travel to customer job sites required.
