Key Responsibilities

As an Environmental Compliance Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring adherence to waste management regulations. Your primary duties will include:

  • Monitoring and enforcing permit compliance to prevent unauthorized waste disposal.
  • Managing on-site traffic control while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Collecting litter and debris from landfill areas and directing vehicles to appropriate disposal sites.
  • Assisting waste collection drivers on designated routes and maintaining traffic signage.
  • Performing general maintenance and repair tasks, including cleaning and upkeep of landfill facilities.
  • Preparing daily reports and maintaining equipment condition documentation.
  • Training and supervising staff engaged in similar activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Knowledge of waste management regulations and classifications.
  • Ability to perform manual labor in various environmental conditions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with the public and team members.
  • Capability to operate light and heavy equipment as necessary.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain necessary certifications.

Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to:

  • Lift and carry up to 45 pounds regularly.
  • Work outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
  • Utilize personal protective equipment effectively.

Special Requirements

Applicants must be willing to obtain necessary certifications related to landfill operations within a specified timeframe.
