Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Chemical/Process Engineer Intern to contribute to our team in Rochester, NY.

This internship will provide a unique opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting, supporting and participating in assigned project work. You will have the chance to learn from experienced engineers, managers, and production employees in different departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all plant safety policies and procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment.
  • Apply your education to support and participate in assigned project work, gaining hands-on experience in the cement industry.
  • Collaborate with the production team to achieve production goals, working closely with experienced engineers and production employees.
  • Complete technical projects to gain a deeper understanding of cement plant operations and the cement industry.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • A college student studying Chemical Engineering, working towards a bachelor's degree.
  • A highly organized, efficient, and process improvement mindset and skillset.
  • Able and willing to dive in and help solve problems in the field.
  • A strong desire to work in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
  • A multi-tasker who can tackle multiple projects at the same time.
  • Flexible to work overtime when needed.
