Job Description

Ultra Electronics Ocean Systems Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Quality Assurance function, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness and fulfillment of our Quality Policy.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the development and implementation of supplier quality management processes and procedures.
  • Liaising with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams to resolve material issues and ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Conducting supplier audits and verifying corrective actions.
  • Developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers.
  • Completing First Article Inspections (FAI) for new parts and suppliers, and maintaining data for AS9102 compliance.
  • Requesting Engineering Approval Inspections (REA) and coordinating efforts for non-conforming material.
  • DMR and RMA processing, and addressing customer complaints regarding part quality.
  • Maintaining the AS9100 approved Supplier Quality system and supporting AS9100 audits.
  • Providing support for customer visits and/or DCMA visits related to parts.
  • Investigating and addressing customer complaints regarding part quality.
  • Working with Design Engineering and Supply Chain Management to develop and improve incoming receiving processes.
  • Coordinating efforts to return material to suppliers for analysis, rework, or replacement.
  • Evaluating new suppliers and ensuring due diligence is given to identifying and managing associated risks.
  • Assisting the Supplier Quality Manager with the approval process for new suppliers and changes to existing suppliers.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Applied Science, Quality Assurance, or an associated field, and at least five years of experience in quality or a quality-related field in a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of root cause analysis, and the ability to lead teams in the use of data. Proficiency in MS Office applications, ERP systems, Minitab, and other quality assurance tools is also required.
