PitchBook Data is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Operations Intern to join our team. As a Data Operations Intern, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our data, which is used by our customers to make informed investment decisions.
Our Data Operations team is responsible for gathering and verifying information through web research, managing our research database, and leveraging our in-house database and business intelligence reports to ensure that proprietary data is audited and added to the PitchBook Platform efficiently.
We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about data and has a strong interest in the private equity, venture capital, and M&A industries. As a Data Operations Intern, you will have the opportunity to work with our team to learn about different datasets, help with various data quality initiatives, and communicate effectively with your team and other stakeholders to provide updates on project progress.
Responsibilities- Gather and verify information through web research and manage the information in our research database
- Research events and information pertaining to the private equity and venture capital industries
- Leverage our in-house database, business intelligence reports, and other technology-based tools to ensure that proprietary data is audited and added to the PitchBook Platform efficiently
- Learn and develop research tracking methodologies to ensure that data is of the utmost quality
- Regularly collaborate with other data operations team members to learn about different datasets and help with various data quality initiatives
- Communicate effectively and efficiently with your team and other stakeholders to provide updates on project progress
- Currently enrolled as a junior in a higher education program (college or university): Business, Economics, Finance, and related majors preferred
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and written
- Detail oriented, curious, and innovative
- Interest in the private equity, venture capital, and M&A industries
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel
