Job Summary

The Reading Hospital is seeking an Advanced Practitioner to join our Cardiothoracic Surgery team. The General Cardiothoracic Surgical Advanced Practitioner works closely with Cardiothoracic Surgeons and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to coordinate and deliver patient care in a limited, non-cardiac surgical arena of the cardiothoracic surgery service. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate communication between patients, families, hospital departments, nursing services, and medical staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Cardiothoracic Surgeons and healthcare professionals to deliver patient care
  • Facilitate communication between patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Assist with pre-operative work, consultations, and communications with patients
  • Prescribe and order pre and post-operative diagnostic studies
  • Perform H&P's and possess advanced knowledge in hemodynamic management of ventilators, ventricular assist devices, and adult critical care
  • Work in the operating room as a first assist to physicians and perform surgical functions
  • Assist with direct admissions, discharges, and post-operative care
Requirements
  • Master's Degree
  • Relevant experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • BLS Certification
  • PA Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner License
  • PA Registered Nurse License
