JOB OVERVIEW: The General Medical/Neurology unit is a 26-bed adult medical-surgical department that caters to a diverse patient demographic facing various health challenges. This includes patients with conditions such as UTIs, pneumonia, renal and cardiac issues, as well as those recovering from strokes and other neurological disorders. The team also addresses behavioral health concerns.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES: This position involves assisting with patient care activities and performing non-nursing tasks under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) while collaborating with other nursing staff.

AGE POPULATION: Services will be provided to a wide range of age groups, from infants to geriatrics, ensuring an understanding of their functional and developmental needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; or, at least 16 years of age with an active C.N.A. certification.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Must meet one of the following criteria: (N/A for PCA, SNA, or PCT roles)
    • C.N.A certification
  • PCA or SNA candidates must have completed one of the following:
    • Patient Care Experience
    • A C.N.A. Program
    • At least sophomore year of a nursing program

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Certified Nursing Assistant certification in good standing on the state Nurse Aide Registry, Certified Medical Assistant, or EMS certification. (N/A for PCA's, SNA's, or PCT)

PAY STATUS: Non-Exempt Hourly
