Wound and Ostomy Certified Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wound and Ostomy Certified Nurse to join our team at ECHN. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive assessments and re-assessments of patients' wound and skin needs, including psychosocial, physical, educational, and cultural aspects.
- Develop and revise individualized plans of care based on patient assessment and response to treatment.
- Provide direct care to patients with wounds, ostomies, drainage tubes, and incontinence, recommending products and treatments as needed.
- Document wound and skin issues according to the nursing process and responses to care in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to maintain current knowledge and competence in wound management, skin and incontinence care, and stoma care.
- Practice autonomously, consistent with evidence-based standards, and pursue personal and professional growth and development.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and current Registered Nurse license in the State of Connecticut.
- Certification in Wound, Ostomy and Continence Care/Enterostomal Therapy Nursing is required.
- Two to three years or more of progressive experience in clinical practice in the medical/surgical area.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess basic computer skills.
