Familiarity with CONVEX operating instructions 6401 /6501 and inclusion on the CONVEX qualified switcher list is necessary. The individual should be adept at working within the work order system and procedures, and knowledgeable about state-of-the-art information, techniques, processes, and engineering design, construction of substations, distribution circuits, and analysis of system values.

A thorough understanding of NERC/FERC/NPCC standards and requirements is also required.

Job Responsibilities


The Electric Engineering Manager will oversee and guide the Electric Project Management Section and may take on the responsibilities of the General Manager, Projects and Planning in their absence.

Additionally, the Electric Engineering Manager will be accountable for protective scheme coordination, construction of distribution circuits and substations, electrical engineering, bid preparations and evaluations, cost control, budgeting, project scheduling, record keeping, and the maintenance and operation of the Geographical Information System (GIS)/Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)/Outage Management System (OMS). This role involves managing the overall performance of the distribution systems and overseeing construction projects along with any other related duties as assigned.

The Electric Engineering Manager must have a comprehensive understanding of electric substations and the distribution system.

Familiarity with Alternating Current (AC) and Direct Current (DC) control circuits associated with substation breakers and motor-operated switches is required.

In-depth knowledge of various distribution equipment and computer systems typically used in this field, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office, is essential.

The candidate must be willing to work in a collaborative environment, demonstrating efficient work habits and a high degree of accuracy.
