Key Responsibilities- Category Strategy Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive category strategy that aligns with business objectives and drives cost savings.
- Sourcing and Negotiation: Lead strategic sourcing decisions for new product launches and transfer business, focusing on improved cost, quality, and delivery opportunities.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure product quality, on-time delivery, and service levels.
- Cost Reduction and Analysis: Identify and develop new cost reduction opportunities using various procurement levers, including competitive bidding, global sourcing, negotiation, and supply chain optimization.
- Commodity Spend Analysis: Analyze commodity spend and develop recommendations for category and savings opportunities.
- Communication and Collaboration: Facilitate communications between external suppliers and internal departments to resolve queries or issues.
- Leadership and Development: Lead junior members of the Powertrain Procurement team in support of department goals and contribute to larger strategy reviews of additional commodities.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience: At least 12 years of materials management or supply chain experience, with at least 6 years of management experience.
- Additional Requirements: Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
