Nurse Practitioner

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at DHR Health. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Responsibilities:
- Perform family-centered evidence-based nursing care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Implement physician's orders in a safe and accurate manner.
- Assist with admitting, discharging, and transferring patients.
- Transcribe and implement new physician orders.
- Adapt to the needs of the unit by demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of nursing actions.
- Participate in health/therapeutic counseling, teaching/emotional support for patients and significant others.
- Makes rounds on assigned patients and prioritizes patient needs.
- Maintains a safe and clean environment for patients and coworkers.
- Provides and receives reports in a status of patients at the change of shifts.
- Administers medication and therapies within the scope of safe nursing practice.
- Formulates, modifies, and implements goal-oriented patient care plans according to facility policies.
- Assumes responsibility to report clinical limitations or the need for assistance to the supervisor.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing required (BSN preferred)
- Current registered nurse's license in the State of Texas required.
- Current BLS certification required.
- ACLS certification within six (6) months of hire.
- Job requires cross-training to like areas.
- Willingness to be trained for charge nurse.
- Willingness to become a preceptor after two years of nursing experience.
- Hospital experience preferred.
- Proficiency in English - verbal and written and computer skills required.
- Spanish proficiency preferred.

The individual must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age.
