OVERVIEW:


The main focus of this position is to design, implement, and enhance cost-efficient manufacturing procedures to achieve optimal efficiencies and production rates.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, implement, and sustain economical manufacturing techniques and fair labor standards utilizing predetermined time standard methods.
  • Conduct payback analyses to support plant project evaluations and perform cost analysis for production.
  • Assist in the budgeting process and assess variances from standards, identifying discrepancies, investigating causes, and proposing solutions.
  • Monitor daily staffing to determine optimal production speed.
  • Collaborate with the plant industrial engineer to prepare daily, weekly, and labor reports.
  • Promote the adoption of processes throughout the organization. Lead training in process mapping and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Investigate new strategies to enhance safety, ergonomics, and labor costs.
  • Analyze primary cost drivers and support plant management in implementing relevant procedures.
  • Select suitable work measurement techniques and assess work content of support labor. Establish standards and evaluate performance against these standards.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at cost savings and monitor progress throughout the year.
  • Work closely with the Industrial Engineer, Cost Manager, Controller, and plant management team.
  • Educate plant personnel on work measurements and assist corporate with labor initiatives.
  • Collaborate with corporate and other plant cost control managers to share and implement best practices across regional facilities.
  • Travel requirements: 10%

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Frequent communication with all departments within the plant.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to manage priorities and adapt to dynamic deadlines.
  • Effective time management skills and capability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Interpersonal and teamwork skills for collaboration with employees at all levels.
  • Availability for first shift, with flexibility as needed.
  • Self-motivated and a team player.
  • Good technical aptitude.
  • Fluent communication in English, both written and spoken.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in engineering or a related field.
  • Familiarity with the food industry is advantageous.
