Job Summary:

The Senior Logistics Engineer is responsible for optimizing the entire logistics flow from suppliers to the point of use, ensuring efficiency and adherence to safety standards. This role involves preparing and coordinating tact time, process, and product changes, executing and implementing improvements, and continuously working on enhancing logistics processes. The Senior Logistics Engineer will also perform engineering tasks such as frequency studies and developing standard operating procedures, as well as making changes to internal and external logistics setups. This position requires advanced knowledge typically obtained through education and extensive work experience.


Key Responsibilities:

Logistics Optimization:

  • Analyze and optimize logistics flows from suppliers to the point of use.
  • Ensure all logistics processes meet efficiency and safety standards.

Process Coordination:

  • Prepare and coordinate tact time, process, and product changes.
  • Execute and implement decided improvements in logistics processes.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify areas for improvement and work on continuous enhancement of logistics operations.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to streamline logistics.

Engineering Tasks:

  • Conduct frequency studies and develop standard operating procedures.
  • Perform changes in logistics flows and internal/external logistics setups.

Logistics Setup Rebuilding:

  • Plan and execute the rebuilding of logistics setups to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Project Management:

  • Manage logistics projects and processes independently with limited supervision.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.

Team Leadership:

  • Coach and review the work of lower-level professionals.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members to enhance their skills and performance.

Problem Solving:

  • Address and resolve complex and difficult logistics problems.
  • Develop and implement solutions to overcome logistics challenges.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in logistics engineering or a similar role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and tools.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Certification in logistics or supply chain management.
