Supervising Child Psychiatrist Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervising Child Psychiatrist to join our team at the County of San Mateo, CA. As a key member of our Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) team, you will provide clinical direction for psychiatric clinical programs, participate in the overall management of division and inter-division issues, and supervise a talented and dedicated team of medical, nursing, and professional staff.
Key Responsibilities- Direct and administer a child psychiatric program, ensuring high-quality care and services for our clients.
- Provide clinical supervision and direction to medical/professional staff, including physicians, and ensure adherence to medical policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Develop and monitor treatment plans, provide psychiatric treatment and management to children and adolescents, and establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with clients and families.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to treat children, including pediatricians and primary care providers, and provide consultation and training services as needed.
- Participate in quality improvement programs, provide consultation and review services to other physicians, and contribute to the development of medical policies and procedures.
- Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry, with a specialization in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
- Current California license to practice medicine, with a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Three years of post-residency experience providing child and adolescent psychiatric care, with a strong background in clinical supervision and leadership.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
