Job Summary

The School-Based SEL Specialist will play a critical role in implementing the CIS of Chicago integrated student services program. This position will provide individualized support to students, addressing academic, behavioral, and attendance challenges, while also contributing to larger school climate initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide case management to 50 elementary, middle, or high school students, helping them overcome obstacles and achieve academic success
  • Collaborate with school faculty and community stakeholders to address student barriers and opportunities
  • Maintain accurate and timely case notes and documentation
  • Engage with CIS of Chicago Partnerships Team to access a wide range of community resources and supports
  • Participate in regular team, organizational, and clinical meetings
  • Assist with other organizational and project activities as needed
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling preferred (licensed or license-eligible a plus)
  • At least three years of experience working with adolescents, their families, and urban public schools is highly desired
  • Valid driver's license and reliable access to transportation required
  • Criminal background check and verification of past employment and education required
