Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Architect to join our team at Travelers Insurance. As a key member of our Cybersecurity Architecture Unit, you will play a critical role in shaping the technology target state for our global organization.

Your primary responsibility will be to lead the effort to create a unified architecture vision, providing security guidance, patterns, and decisions in support of modern generative AI and public cloud solutions such as AWS. You will work closely with senior technology leaders to transform our current business and technology capabilities and pave the way for best-in-class solutions.

As a successful candidate, you will have a proven track record of building high-quality enterprise Cybersecurity solutions, with a strong understanding of modern technologies including Cloud-native, APIs, AI, and ML. You will be a person of high integrity, who believes in challenging the status quo when needed, while always first seeking to understand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide security guidance, patterns, and decisions in support of modern generative AI and public cloud solutions such as AWS.
  • Lead Cybersecurity technology proof of concepts prototyping to ensure feasibility of architecture solutions.
  • Partner with Software Engineering and the enterprise to lead and assist with the execution of proof of technologies.
  • Provides Cybersecurity architecture direction for engineers in support of a technical pattern.
  • Displays strong thought leadership in pursuit of modern architecture principals and technology modernization.
  • Drives continuous technology transformation to minimize technical debt.
  • Looks for opportunities to capitalize on technology advances through analysis of key industry and technology trends to assess potential impact on the enterprise.
  • Participates in defining target state technology architecture and roadmaps.
  • Ensures alignment of technology initiatives with the target state.
  • Builds strong partnership with software and infrastructure engineering to ensure proper alignment of skills with technology direction.
  • Continuously improve efficiency and effectiveness of the architecture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in technology related field or equivalent with 4+ years of technology Engineering experience.
  • Organizational experience in an agile operating model.
  • Established work in proof of concepts and technology.
  • Strong proven Software Engineering experience.
  • Supports technology target state, roadmaps that aligned to Short- and Long-term business goals.
  • Has hands on Cybersecurity or architecture experience in the last 3 years.
  • Exposure to Generative AI security design.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in designing security solutions that align to the NIST Cybersecurity Framework or equivalent standards.
  • Strong understanding of Cybersecurity domains of expertise.
  • Experienced with large scale technology platforms.
  • CISSP, CISM, Security+, CISA or equivalent Cybersecurity certification preferred.
  • Current experience with AWS, APIs, accelerators, DevSecOps.
  • Cloud Architecture Certification (AWS, GCP, or Azure) or strong architecture experience preferred on Cloud.
  • Insurance technology experience desired.
  • Strong grasp of value creation and business capability models.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement.
  • Must be passionate about technology transformations.
  • Executed technology modernization initiatives including migration to cloud native and API Strategy.
