We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solar Project Manager to join our team at RES. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for managing site-based project management of utility scale solar projects.
Key Responsibilities- Manage project plans, host kick-off, update, and close-out meetings for the project.
- Manage project required construction permits as a prerequisite for project inception.
- Manage and maintain the project schedule from pre-construction to project close-out.
- Allocate budget, costs to date, forecast cost to completion, procurement, and materials management.
- Manage contracts and change orders.
- Manage purchases of project-related materials and equipment.
- Maintain a full understanding of all contractual obligations for the project and documentation of variances.
- Ensure that the overall terms of the main contract are passed on to subcontracts.
- Ensure the project team and all associated subcontractors understand and adhere to the client contract, associated exhibits, and project-specific agreements.
- Support recruiting and hiring of outstanding talent.
- Direct, guide, and coach discipline managers to ensure activities on site are understood and following established processes through quality checks.
- Communicate variances to clients and executive management.
- Manage site personnel.
- Create a culture of continuous improvement.
- Manage rotation schedule to ensure proper staffing coverage at all times during project construction.
- Utilize Safety Management Systems (SMS), Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and technical procedures.
- Perform audit functions to ensure compliance.
- Provide tasks and assignments that challenge and stretch employees' responsibilities.
- Conduct regular discussions with employee(s) on personal development. Comfortable with empowering others.
- Conduct timely, effective performance reviews in accordance with RES guidelines.
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management or equivalent preferred.
- Any combination of education and work experience (2 years' work experience is equivalent to 1 year of education) required.
- 3+ years in Project Management required.
- 2+ years in Solar EPC preferred.
- Domestic travel of 75% - 100%.
- Valid driver's license required.
