Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Ohio Department of Commerce. As a LPN, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide patient care as directed by healthcare professionals
- Document patient-related care timely and accurately within the electronic health record
- Maintain patient medical records and ensure confidentiality
- Administer medication, including oral and intramuscular medications, and perform venipuncture for laboratory analysis
- Perform treatments and assist with medical procedures
- Assist with chronic care clinics management and participate in patient care planning and treatment team activities
- Respond to emergencies and provide emergency care and collection of patient data
- Collect vital signs and timely document all findings
- Collect urine and/or other body fluid specimens and prepare patients for release and/or transfer
- Ensure discharge medication orders are completed and timely forwarded to pharmacy services
- Participate in work-related training and all institution training exercises as assigned
- Provide assistance to other healthcare staff and investigate and document problem areas and/or areas of concern
- Review shift report from preceding shift(s) and assist physicians with medical procedures
- Assume duties of other nurses during absences and observe, document and provide nursing support to assistive personnel
- Provide patient education regarding healthcare maintenance and prevention of disease and participate in continuous quality improvement activities
- Perform administrative duties, attend meetings, and schedule multidisciplinary team meetings
- Perform and/or assist with inventory and ordering of medical supplies and assist ancillary staff as needed to ensure patient care needs are met
- Must work overtime as required
