Job Title: Music Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Music Therapist to join our team at Treasure Coast. As a Music Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing music therapy services to patients, families, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement music therapy assessments with patients and families in accordance with the interdisciplinary plan of care.
  • Guide patients in the use of creative therapeutic activities to improve or maintain mental and physical functions and quality of life.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of music therapy services with patients.
  • Document all services provided to hospice patients and families in the clinical record.
  • Instruct other care team members in the use of music to achieve individualized care plan goals.
  • Provide in-services to staff, hospitals, nursing homes, and other related facilities as requested.
  • Participate in special events and follow appropriate standards of practice as set forth by the American Music Therapy Association and the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization.
Requirements:
  • CBMT Board Certification and compliance with continuing music therapy education requirements.
  • Masters' Degree in Music Therapy preferred.
  • Effective customer service orientation.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate musical skills with competence and proficiency in soothing singing, guitar, and piano.
  • Knowledge of music therapy research and best practices in clinical interventions.
  • Ability to recognize patient/family strengths and weaknesses, as well as their support systems.
