Position Overview

The Security Officer Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of personnel, property, and visitors within the organization. This position is essential for maintaining a secure environment at our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the protection of employees, assets, and guests throughout the campus.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the premises and nearby areas to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Oversee the activities of contract security personnel, providing necessary training and addressing any operational deficiencies.
  • Investigate security-related incidents and develop new policies and procedures as required.

Primary Duties:

  • Safeguard company assets and respond effectively to emergencies.
  • Manage and respond to incoming communications at the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC).
  • Assess and improve the performance of security staff.
  • Ensure compliance with established policies and maintain security equipment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma with coursework in security or criminal justice.
  • Associate degree in criminal justice or business administration is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in security or related fields.
  • Basic understanding of security protocols, military police, or law enforcement practices.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge:

  • Training in life-safety procedures, including first-aid and CPR.
  • Familiarity with criminal law as it pertains to private security operations.
  • Knowledge of effective patrol methods and self-defense techniques.
  • Completion of a police training program or private security academy is advantageous.
