Position Overview
The Security Officer Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of personnel, property, and visitors within the organization. This position is essential for maintaining a secure environment at our facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the protection of employees, assets, and guests throughout the campus.
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises and nearby areas to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Oversee the activities of contract security personnel, providing necessary training and addressing any operational deficiencies.
- Investigate security-related incidents and develop new policies and procedures as required.
Primary Duties:
- Safeguard company assets and respond effectively to emergencies.
- Manage and respond to incoming communications at the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC).
- Assess and improve the performance of security staff.
- Ensure compliance with established policies and maintain security equipment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma with coursework in security or criminal justice.
- Associate degree in criminal justice or business administration is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in security or related fields.
- Basic understanding of security protocols, military police, or law enforcement practices.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
- Training in life-safety procedures, including first-aid and CPR.
- Familiarity with criminal law as it pertains to private security operations.
- Knowledge of effective patrol methods and self-defense techniques.
- Completion of a police training program or private security academy is advantageous.
