Day Shift
Role Summary
The Safety and Security Specialist plays a vital role within our Security Services team. In this capacity, you will ensure the protection of MultiCare Health System properties and facilities. You will be entrusted with the safety and security of MultiCare patients, staff, and visitors. You are valued here.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general security duties to safeguard individuals and property while enforcing relevant policies, rules, and regulations.
- Deter unlawful activities and misconduct through tactical measures.
- Employ Management of Aggressive Behavior techniques, both verbally and physically as necessary.
- Utilize the principles of Awareness, Vigilance, Avoidance, Defense, and Escape to effectively protect and serve the facility.
- Operate weapons detection devices to monitor individuals and ensure the removal of prohibited items from the premises.
- Apply appropriate techniques with assistive devices when interacting with combative or aggressive individuals.
- Effectively utilize required security equipment and tools.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid driver's license.
- IAHSS basic certification or the ability to obtain it within one year of employment.
- At least six months of experience in law enforcement, military, or security, preferably in a healthcare environment.
- Proof of a safe driving record as per established MultiCare standards.
- BLS certification, or the ability to obtain it within 30 days of employment.
