Key Responsibilities- Design and Coordination: Design and coordinate overhead and underground distribution projects in compliance with industry standards, specifications, and codes.
- Peer and Final Reviews: Conduct peer and final reviews of distribution designs completed by others to ensure adherence to all applicable standards, specifications, and codes.
- Design Sealing: Seal distribution line designs created by yourself and others.
- Project Coordination: Coordinate the design and construction of distribution line projects with customers and other involved utilities.
- Customer Support: Assist customers in acquiring necessary easements, encroachments, and permits.
- Design Support: Provide design support by preparing draft reports, calculations, details, plans, and specifications.
- Document Preparation: Prepare scheduling, planning, designing, permitting, and construction documents.
- Quality and Safety: Ensure that all work meets safety and quality standards, codes, and specifications, as well as set schedules and deadlines.
- Issue Resolution: Identify, analyze, and resolve issues as early as possible in the project.
- Progress Updates: Provide timely and accurate updates on progress, reviews, observations, solutions, and other project-related information in an understandable format.
- Field Observations: Conduct field observations and prepare relevant field reports.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited four-year program.
- Experience: Over 5 years of relevant experience with prior professional work in a related field preferred.
- Professional Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) License.
- Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
- Project Management Skills: Excellent project management skills with the ability to meet deliverables on time and within budget. Familiarity with Microsoft Project software is preferred.
- Multi-Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing multiple priorities and schedules throughout the project lifecycle.
- Client Consultant Experience: Experience working with both technical and non-technical individuals in a client-consultant environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with AutoCAD experience (Civil 3D experience is a plus).
- Travel and Physical Demands: Willingness and ability to travel approximately 10% of the time and physically capable of navigating construction sites and working outdoors.
