The primary objective of this role is to safeguard and enhance health, prevent illness and injury, and alleviate suffering through nursing assessment and intervention.
This position requires demonstrating leadership within the professional practice environment by overseeing the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver holistic care and advocate for the patients and families we serve.
QUALIFICATIONS
License /Certification
Required:
CA RN license
BLS
ACLS certification within one year of hire/transfer.
Education
Preferred:
BSN, MSN, or currently enrolled in an RN-BSN program.
RESPONSIBILITIES

The nurse employs the results of quality of care/performance improvement activities to drive changes in nursing practice:
Collects clinical data to monitor the quality and effectiveness of nursing care.
Identifies key aspects of care that are critical for quality monitoring and formulates recommendations to enhance nursing practice or patient/resident outcomes.
Participates on interdisciplinary teams that evaluate clinical practices or health services related to patient/resident care.
Participates in QI studies:
Engages in task forces or committees. Implements suggestions for improving outcomes based on unit study results. Independently identifies areas needing improvement and recommends solutions. Shares findings from studies and audits with colleagues. Seeks improvement proactively.
Collaborates and communicates effectively with patients/residents, families, and other healthcare providers. Utilizes peer review and observation.
Monitors documentation for appropriate referrals:
Formulates care plans and involves patients/residents in decisions regarding their care and service delivery.
Makes referrals, ensuring continuity of care as needed.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services tailored to the population served in the assigned unit or work area.
Performs other duties as assigned.
