Parks and Recreation Maintenance Worker

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our Regional Road Crew as a Parks and Recreation Maintenance Worker. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to road maintenance, including operating heavy equipment, driving large trucks, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate heavy equipment, such as backhoes, loaders, and graders, to perform road maintenance tasks
Drive large trucks to transport heavy equipment to and from job sites
Apply working knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment associated with road maintenance to ensure proper operation and upkeep
Ensure compliance with safety standards, procedures, and applicable codes and regulations related to road maintenance
Perform medium to heavy manual labor as part of daily tasks

Requirements:

Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State
Must possess or obtain a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License with air brake endorsement that allows the candidate to legally operate commercial vehicles in New York State
Must be capable of operating a truck/trailer combination
Must have the ability to understand and carry out instructions, including in writing
