Overview of Responsibilities

The selected candidates will be responsible for administering medications, performing prescribed treatments, and prioritizing patient needs based on nursing assessments. They will address a range of clinical challenges and utilize the appropriate chain of command for assistance when necessary. Additionally, the role involves supervising junior staff, evaluating their performance, and collaborating closely with medical professionals and external specialists.

Key Duties Include:

  • Delivering and assessing direct nursing care.
  • Creating, implementing, and reviewing nursing care plans.
  • Providing health education and guidance to individuals and community groups.
  • Maintaining effective communication with the healthcare team.
  • Documenting and submitting necessary records and reports.
  • Participating in quality assurance initiatives.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following requirements based on the level of the position:

  • Registered Nurse I: Must possess a valid Delaware Registered Nurse license or a multi-state compact license.
  • Registered Nurse II: Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or at least one year of nursing experience, along with a valid Delaware Registered Nurse license.
  • Registered Nurse III: Must have at least two years of nursing experience or a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with one year of experience, or a Master’s degree in Nursing, along with a valid Delaware Registered Nurse license.

Additional Information

All candidates must undergo a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check as part of the hiring process. This position is part of a collective bargaining agreement.
