This position is a floating position and will cover three primary care facilities: Harris Medical Associates in Sylva, NC, Swain Family Care in Bryson City, NC and Harris Family Care in Franklin, NC.

The function of this position is to coordinate clinical office activities, under the direction of the physicians, and the schedules of clinical staff. Complies with state and regulatory agencies. Provides support to Certified Nursing Assistants and Certified Medical Assistants functioning in the Medical Assistant position in the clinical setting. Prioritizes incoming phone calls by assessing the caller’s symptoms and advising them in basic treatment or urges them to seek care in the office or the emergency department. Stays current with diseases processes, outbreaks and any information that would be beneficial for staff. Completes required documentation consistent with the system used in the facility. Develops and trains clinical staff.
Performs a variety of tasks for the patients and providers including but not limited to triaging patients, taking patient vitals, obtaining medical information, charting, preparing exam rooms, and other duties as assigned.
However, any equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities would be acceptable, subject to any legal and/or regulatory requirements.
Work experience: Prefer two years of experience working in a physician’s office.
Must have the ability to work independently, have strong oral skills, good basic math skills and be computer literate.
Ability to hear clearly and have visual acuity necessary for computer use. Ability to do repetitive work, keyboarding and writing. Harris Regional Hospital is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
