Position Summary:

The CNC Machinist is a skilled professional who excels in all phases of machining and thrives in a structured, fast-paced environment. This role entails verifying part configurations and dimensions before submission to quality control. The Machinist is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating both CNC and manual machines, including lathes and milling machines, to produce high-quality precision components for various applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute all tasks safely and professionally, adhering to established company policies.
  • Interpret engineering drawings with GD&T and ASME Y14.5 symbols.
  • Machine components according to project specifications with minimal supervision.
  • Utilize knowledge of materials to determine optimal feeds and speeds for efficient machining.
  • Design and create fixtures as needed for specific machining tasks.
  • Conduct self-verification of dimensions on completed parts and assemblies to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Collaborate with QA/QC personnel.
  • Measure components to assess accuracy and compliance with specifications.
  • Maintain accurate documentation throughout the machining process.
  • Keep the workspace clean and organized.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of machining experience.
  • Proficiency in programming CNC machines (Mills and Lathes).
  • Ability to operate manual machines (Lathes, mills, and surface grinders) effectively.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience with Mastercam programming software.
  • Strong skills in using measuring tools (Micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.).
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug screening is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in research and development or prototype fabrication.
  • Familiarity with NQA-1 programs.
  • Experience with coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
  • Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS software.
