Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Team Leader will play a pivotal role in driving continuous enhancement and fostering total employee engagement by cultivating effective working relationships across all departments. Key responsibilities encompass the operation and maintenance of aseptic machinery, adherence to process standards, and a focus on key performance indicators (KPIs), while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and safety protocols.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Establish transparent communication channels with team members to facilitate appropriate information flow.
  • Oversee employee performance, offering guidance and support while identifying areas for professional development.
  • Maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Ensure the team operates efficiently to accomplish daily objectives.
  • Document standard operating procedures (SOPs), processes, and best practices.

Key Duties:

  • Identify and troubleshoot underperforming equipment.
  • Maintain all necessary regulatory, customer, and internal documentation.
  • Implement improvement strategies that optimize resources and enhance KPIs.
  • Assist management with various projects and initiatives as required.
  • Set up, sterilize, and operate aseptic filling, batching, and packaging equipment.
  • Conduct periodic packaging integrity tests and weight checks, ensuring compliance with established validation methods.
  • Ensure appropriate packaging materials are utilized for each product and track machine downtime.
  • Maintain a supply of sterilizing agents for equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineering to perform preventive maintenance and establish proper maintenance schedules.
  • Apply lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures correctly.
  • Implement 5S standards in work areas.
  • Understand and communicate machine-specific KPIs to management.
  • Own daily performance KPIs across multiple production lines.
  • Demonstrate strong time management skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Conduct cleaning in place (CIP), cleaning out of place (COP), and steam in place (SIP) before and after production.
  • Assist in allergen monitoring programs and routine preventive maintenance.
  • Perform sanitation duties and maintain housekeeping standards.
  • Engage in troubleshooting and assist with batching and processing tasks.
  • Support quality assurance monitoring and documentation efforts.
  • Promote a strong food safety culture in line with SQF requirements.
  • Actively participate in the implementation and continuous improvement of food safety as part of a collaborative team.
  • Champion the company's mission to enhance global health and wellness through the delivery of high-quality, sustainable food products.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of current OSHA and safety standards.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams and foster a collaborative environment.
  • Positive attitude in a dynamic production setting.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Forklift and aerial platform certification within three months of hire.
  • Completion of better processing control school and Acidified Foods course within the first six months of employment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift up to 15 pounds multiple times during a shift.
  • Frequent bending, crouching, and twisting.
  • Ability to work in various challenging conditions, including confined spaces and extreme temperatures.
