Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Amtec Direct Hire. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the design, testing, and development of electromechanical mechanisms and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Complex Systems: Develop and implement electrical designs for commercial and military aviation equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical expertise and guidance to cross-functional team members, including quality, production, and purchasing teams.
  • Test Planning and Execution: Create and execute test plans for production validation and readiness, ensuring the highest quality standards are met.
  • Requirements Analysis: Review and analyze customer and system requirements to develop architecture and specifications for electro-mechanical products.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage engineering projects, including mentoring and supervising less experienced team members.
  • Technical Writing: Prepare technical documentation and responses to requests for information (RFI) and requests for proposal (RFP).
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with customers and cross-functional team members to identify and mitigate development risks and produce development plans.
  • Technology Integration: Integrate new technology, techniques, and concepts to enhance functionality, simplify designs, improve reliability, and reduce production costs.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) degree required.
  • Experience: 10+ years of electrical design experience, with a strong background in analog and digital circuit design.
  • Skills: Proficiency in programming embedded systems in C and/or assembly language, experience with ORCAD, Altium, or similar design capture programs, and PCB layout experience.
  • Certifications: Aerospace design and certification experience a plus, DO-160/MIL-STD-810 experience a plus.
