Job Summary

**Operate and Maintain Equipment**

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic I to join our team at Compass Group, North America. As a Mechanic I, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining all equipment, including HVAC systems, high-pressure boilers, generators, and steam equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and record information from meters and gauges at specified intervals to verify operating conditions.
  • Provide quality customer service by providing one-on-one attention to detail.
  • Respond to dispatch calls for machine repairs using company vehicle.
  • Call on existing customers to determine adequacy of service; listen to and resolve service complaints.
  • Visually inspect and listen to machines to identify causes of malfunctions; dismantle machines to gain access to problem area.
  • Inspect parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems; remove and replace worn or defective parts; repair broken parts; realign and adjust components; test machine operation following repair.
  • Review inventory and order parts; ship and receive machines and equipment; maintain equipment inventory.
  • Set up and operate mechanical equipment and small hand tools (e.g., drills, grinders, welding torches) for machine and equipment repair.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment; perform job safely.
  • Consistently demonstrate support of the department by striving for excellence.
  • Contribute to the team; exhibit professionalism with customers, fellow employees, and others.

Requirements:

  • Type I Refrigeration Certification
  • Valid Non-CDL Class C driver's license
