Responsibilities may include setting up and operating various machinery, hand tools, and pneumatic equipment to heat, bend, form, press, stretch, shrink, straighten, notch, punch, roll, cut, refine, grind, drill, and work according to technical drawings or customer specifications.

Position Overview

  • Ensure operations are conducted as specified in the traveler, including proper materials, thickness, and processes.
  • Ability to comprehend layout and plan the sequence of operations.
  • Set equipment controls and timers accurately.
  • Prepare machinery and dies for operation.
  • Familiarity with machine operation and controls is essential.
  • Make necessary adjustments to maintain consistent quality of parts.
Refine parts for aesthetic or customer-specified requirements.

  • Utilize precision measuring instruments for setups and quality assurance.
  • Employ necessary inspection tools to guarantee consistent quality.
  • Understand customer specifications relevant to the operations performed.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Must be capable of frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
Work conditions include: 100% manufacturing environment.

  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Regular exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and airborne particles.
  • Noise levels are typically loud.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment as mandated by safety regulations.
Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 6 to 12 months of experience in manufacturing or warehouse settings is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude is necessary.
  • Basic math skills are required - including decimals, percentages, fractions; geometry and trigonometry knowledge is preferred.
  • Computer proficiency - ability to learn new software, reports, functions, and internal ERP systems.
