Job Overview:

Flight Paramedic

We are seeking a dedicated Flight Paramedic to join our esteemed team of air medical professionals. Your primary role will involve the safe transport of patients between medical facilities and responding to emergency scene calls. Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely completion and submission of electronic patient care records for each flight dispatched.
  • Conduct daily operational checks, including narcotic inventory.
  • Deliver advanced life support care from the moment of patient contact until care is transferred to the receiving medical facility, while maintaining comprehensive patient documentation.
  • Enhance your skills and knowledge through ongoing clinical and laboratory training.
  • Keep updated records of required licenses, certifications, continuing education, and advanced procedures in the Employee Education Manual.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use and routine maintenance of all emergency equipment and supplies.
  • Foster positive relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the community.
  • Act as a medical team member during flight operations.
  • Participate in pre-mission briefings and post-mission debriefings, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Assist with pre-flight checklists and provide support to pilots as needed, including communication and navigational tasks.
  • Adhere to safety protocols to ensure the well-being of yourself, medical personnel, patients, and equipment prior to takeoff.
  • Conduct safety briefings for the aircraft as required.
  • Be prepared to fill open shifts within your designated area as directed by the Regional Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in an Advanced Life Support (ALS) or critical care environment is required.
Preferred Education and Certifications:
  • Current EMT-P license/certification in the relevant states is mandatory.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications are required prior to achieving flight status, with trauma certification needed within the first year of employment.
  • Advanced Certification (FP-C) is preferred and must be obtained within 24 months of hire.
  • Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, and ITLS/PHTLS are advantageous.
  • NREMT-P certification may be required based on the assigned area.
