Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the overall maintenance and upkeep of the hotel premises, including guest rooms, public areas, and exterior facilities. This role requires a strong commitment to providing excellent service to guests and associates, while maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repairs, replacements, and preventative maintenance, to ensure the hotel's equipment and facilities are in good working condition.
  • Assist guests with requests and respond to emergencies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the hotel's facilities to identify and address any maintenance issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and inventory management.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as housekeeping and engineering, to ensure seamless operations.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to stay up-to-date on new technologies and best practices in maintenance and repair.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or technical training in a related field preferred.
  • 1-3 months of experience in a maintenance or repair role, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively with guests, associates, and outside vendors.
  • Ability to understand and follow safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and other guidelines and company standards.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to use units of measurement for weight, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply good judgment at all times.
  • Ability to assist with solving guest issues and deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Work Environment

The Maintenance Technician will work in a fast-paced hotel environment, with frequent exposure to noise, dust, and other environmental hazards. The associate must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver equipment and tools, and work at heights and in confined spaces.
