Job SummaryUnder the supervision of a physician, the Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing comprehensive patient care, including performing medical evaluations, ordering diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans, prescribing medication, and providing post-operative wound care management. The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner will assist the medical team with both inpatient and outpatient procedures and take hospital call.
Essential Responsibilities- Support the mission, purpose, and values of Tenet Physician Resources.
- Adhere to the Tenet HIPAA Compliance Plan and the Privacy Standards Confidentiality Agreement.
- Participate in patient review conferences and staffing.
- Assist the physician with utilization review, quality assurance, program evaluation, infection control, and safety committee activities.
- Order medications and interpret the results of laboratory tests as part of the physical examination and health management.
- Conduct health teaching and counseling during the physical exam, enabling the client to make informed choices about health and treatment options.
- Provide consultative direction as needed for nursing, laboratory, and clinic assistant staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
Graduate of an approved and accredited Physician Assistant master's program or Nurse Practitioner program. Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license to practice in the state of Arizona. CPR Certified. DEA registration with the state. Ideal candidate will have 2+ years of post-cardiology Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner experience in both inpatient and outpatient.
