Job Summary

The Nurse Residency Program Coordinator will be responsible for attending all quality and core curriculum classes, actively participating in professional development workshops and peer support groups, and successfully completing all clinical competencies and validation requirements of the Nurse Residency Program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend all quality and core curriculum classes
  • Participate in professional development workshops and peer support groups
  • Complete all clinical competencies and validation requirements
  • Work under the direct and indirect supervision of the Clinical Education Team
  • Refine nursing knowledge and skills
  • Actively participate in managing clinical situations
  • Document and procedures in the clinical environment
  • Comply with Prisma Health's Compassion Standards, Mission, Vision and Values
  • Adhere to policy and procedure requirements
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in Nursing required
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing program approved by the South Carolina State Board of Nursing
  • Licensed to practice as a RN in South Carolina
  • BLS required
Work Environment:

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

Accountabilities:
  • Assessment: Collects patient data and completes required forms with appropriate responses according to unit standards
  • Planning Care: Develops a plan of care based on nursing process and which incorporates the plans of other disciplines and continuing care needs
  • Implementing/Managing Care: Care provided conforms to accepted practice standards
  • Evaluation: Records patient care delivered as planned and any variation, with appropriate rationale
  • Leadership: Using nursing process, delegates nursing care to appropriate personnel
