Overview:

The Nurse Manager plays a pivotal leadership role within the Nursing Service, directly reporting to the Chief Nurse of the Spinal Cord Injury and Disorder (SCI/D) Nursing Department. The Nurse Manager is tasked with:

  • Fostering the growth and development of team members, including performance evaluations and recommendations for career advancements.
  • Making informed clinical and managerial decisions.
  • Providing guidance and support to staff on both work-related and administrative issues.
  • Addressing and resolving staff complaints, escalating serious matters to higher management as necessary.
  • Identifying training needs and facilitating professional development opportunities.
  • Ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Recruiting and retaining skilled nursing staff.
  • Implementing specific programmatic functions tailored to the clinical area.
  • Collaborating effectively across departments and within the service.

Compensation and Benefits:

The Department of Veterans Affairs offers a competitive salary range, regular salary increases, and potential performance awards. Employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including:
